Rose Decosimo

C.P.A., C.G.M.A., a retired Elliott Davis Decosimo assurance shareholder, practiced public accounting for almost thirty years.  Her clients included public companies, not-for-profit organizations and privately held businesses including financial institutions and manufacturers.   Her firm’s dedication to the community allowed her to serve on numerous not-for-profit organization boards throughout her career.  She continues to serve on boards including Siskin Hospital for Rehabilitation (Audit Committee Chair), Erlanger and Children’s Hospital Council and WTCI/PBS.  As a result of both auditing not-for-profits and her board service, Ms. Decosimo holds an in-depth knowledge of not-for-profits.

Ms. Decosimo began her professional career as a Registered Nurse in San Francisco after obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (UTK).  However, her accounting gene soon kicked in and Ms. Decosimo obtained a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC).  She then joined Decosimo and Company, a firm founded by her father, Joseph Decosimo, which subsequently merged with Elliott Davis.

Ms. Decosimo served on the Moore Stephens America Assurance Special Interest Group, the UTK AIM Advisory Roundtable and the UTC Chancellor’s Roundtable.  She has shared her expertise as a speaker by providing accounting and auditing updates, board governance guidance and speaking about women’s roles in philanthropy.  Some of her honors include being recognized as the UTC Beta Alpha Psi Accountant of the Year and being inducted into United Way of Greater Chattanooga Leadership Hall of Fame.
